ESOL Students

Who we are

Premier Learning is an innovative, non-profit English language provider located in Rotherham, in the heart of South Yorkshire.

Set up in 2011, we’ve been providing a wide range of engaging and enjoyable accredited ESOL courses for adults ever since.

By studying with us, students will also be able to embrace the history and culture of the English language.

English as a second language

What we offer

Our ESOL courses are for adults who live in the Rotherham area.

Teaching is in small groups by qualified, experienced native English-speaking tutors.

Courses are from pre-entry/ entry level through to level 2. Each student is assessed first to make sure learning starts at the right level.

Our accredited courses support students in working towards a range of qualifications.

ESOL Learning

...and it's all free!

All our courses are fully funded so there are no fees for students to pay. We work with a number of local and national funders who support our ESOL provision.

Students at pre-entry beginners level can now benefit from a fully-funded place too.

Voluteering opportunities

Benefits of volunteering with Premier Learning

Volunteer ESOL Teachers/assistants will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive support and feedback on teaching from the ESOL teacher and or Coordinator through reflective practice and observations;
  • Obtain a work reference after a period of three months’ continuous volunteering.

Before starting their role all volunteers need to attend general induction and specific safeguarding training, as well as consent to a DBS check.

All training can be delivered online, No prior experience of online teaching is required, but you will need a laptop or desktop PC with a good microphone and internet connection.

We welcome volunteers who can join our face to face classes supporting only in one bubble at the moment.  If  you’re interested in gaining more experience then please email us info@premier-learning.org.  All prospective volunteers should have a higher standard of English than the level they are supporting

You need to speak English everywhere…

It is very hard to live in this country without English. You need to speak everywhere like school, surgery, shopping area and impossible to take an interpreter to everywhere.

Job Applications

Learning English make me feel more confident in applying for a job because I can explain what I wanted to say.

Improved confidence

This class has helped me to become more confident with reading and writing. I can apply for some jobs as I now can read some of the words.

Passing Exams

I have learnt so much in this class. Without it I wouldn’t pass my exams.

Helping with homework

I am now able to write much more than just the takeaway food orders. Thanks to this extra class I can write in sentences rather than just word lists. I can support my children with their homework.
